call me jaded, but im not impressed. from everything ive seen its just an over sized ipod touch. i dont really see what this thing is for. other than a few very specific uses, it seems like a gimmicky product. oh wait, its an apple. *facepalm*

but yeah, its basically a less portable smart phone ... that cant make calls.
its a lap top ... that doesnt really fit on your lap.
its an over priced under powered net book
its an ipod ... that wont ever fit in your pocket ... even if youre mc hammer
its an ebook reader that weighs 1.5 lbs and has a 10 hour battery

what is it really?

Or another way to look at it is, the Kindle was $400 at launch. As an e-book reader. That is only one aspect of a device that is $99 dearer. I mean come on, just cause some dont like it doesnt mean theres not a market for it.
Theres people with no interest in owning a computer that lack some of the things that are taken for granted. This would open up more to them without the need for buying a laptop or desktop. True its limited in its use, but its not ment to be a laptop replacement and its not ment to do everything.
In the place I work this thing has people of all ages talking about it.

There really is a market for it, and at the price range its very appealing to LOT of people. True many computer users wont want it because its limited. I for one dont find it appealing simply because I like to do more than it offers. And of course Apple haters wont like it because its Apple.

Having said that, from what ive heard from people in general this device is gaining alot of attention from non apple lovers, and non computer users. Add that to Apple fanboys and from a business point of view Apple would have been fools not to release it.
